Discover Our Journey

Our Origins

Founders of Faith

Carlo Tancredi and Giulia Colbert, united in faith and love, devoted their lives to God and the poor, turning their home into a refuge for abandoned children.

Mission of Love and Learning

Recognizing the value of education, the founders created the Congregation to nurture and uplift the poor with Christ’s love.

Growth and Global Mission

From its humble start in Piedmont, the Congregation grew across Italy and, under Mother Enrichetta Dominici, reached India in 1871.

The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Ann of Providence was founded in Turin in 1834, thanks to the vision and charity of Carlo Tancredi Falletti and Giulia Colbert, the Marquises of Barolo. United in deep faith and mutual love, they dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to God and to the service of their neighbour. Read More

Our Patron: St. Ann

St. Ann, the grandmother of our Lord Jesus Christ and mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary, stands as a beacon of faith, patience, and devotion. Her life exemplifies the quiet strength of maternal love and the profound impact of faithful nurturing.

Our Congregation is placed under the loving protection of St. Ann, the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary, honoured as a model of mothers and educators.

Jesus Himself said, “A tree is known by its fruit” (Mt 12:33). The fruit of this holy mother is the Virgin Mary, preserved from sin and chosen to be the Mother of God. From Mary’s holiness, we recognize the greatness of her parents, Joachim and Ann

Devotion to St. Ann began in the East as early as the 6th century, when Emperor Justinian built a Church in her honour in Constantinople. By the 10th century, her veneration had spread...
